When our baby boy was born by emergency C-Section at just 32 weeks, my husband and I were in a state of surprise and shock. Jill was in the delivery room, but I first saw her when my cart was rolled into the NICU and there she was with a big smile, standing by my son's crib saying, "would you like to hold him?"
From that moment on, she demonstrated such commitment and excellence as she so tenderly cared for both him and us. Knowing I was a nurse did not prevent her from going over every detail of his care with me. I loved that because I was his mommy there and no matter the question Jill would answer in a way that was easy for us to understand. She truly served us well every step of the way and respected us as his parents.
Every encounter with Jill left us feeling encouraged and heard. She showed us her knowledge, ease of comforting, and genuine love for what she does. We had never had a NICU baby before and were so nervous when our son was born at 3 pounds, 9 ounces. Jill celebrated all of his goals and for the six weeks and one day he was there, I felt he was given the best care by all the NICU team, especially Jill.
So many days when I was close to tears, I remembered the special nurses loving my son and my heart smiled. Jill truly is an outstanding nurse. A gem. We look back with fondness and our time with our son in the NICU. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!
