Wendy was the nursery team lead on the day of my son's delivery. She had the opportunity to sit in and assist with my wife's C-Section. Her expertise immediately closed her in on the fact that my son was at risk for respiratory issues. She breathed life into my newborn child, passed him to me and continued to watch over him as we rolled to the nursery.
Later that night she contacted me to inform me that she had moved my son to the transition nursery due to respiratory issues. I rush to see him and found her sitting one-on-one with my son, watching every breath, every cough, every cry. She calmly explained her plan to me and allowed my concerns as much as possible. Wendy took me to the scariest moment of my life and made me believe my son would be ok despite his illnesses. Later that night we were informed that our son had been moved to the NICU. Wendy had passed on care the night shift team lead who had continued her compassionate diligence, and the two of them had saved my son's life.
Due to her exceptional treatment, my son has improved leaps and bounds and will be going home soon. Wendy was truly my child's guardian angel. Every time I see my sons beautiful face, I will remember what you did for my family and so many others.
