I was checked in for an ablation treatment on my heart for A-Fib. I was lucky enough to be assigned to Myeong Yoo.
She treated me as if I were her only patient or like a daughter (although she is certainly not old enough to have a 61-year-old daughter). She showed so much compassion and such a desire to make me comfortable. Myeong came from such a genuine place. She shared with me that she has been a nurse for 33 years and loves what she does. Well, clearly it shows. I don't think I have ever been doted on so completely.
Myeong was so concerned about my comfort. She brought me a heating pad for my back which helped greatly. Made sure I had enough to eat/drink and came in multiple times whether I needed anything or not, she wanted to make sure that I was attended to.
I wish all nurses could spend a day with her and learn how to be the best nurse you can be as we patients really appreciate the warmth and kindness during our health scares.
This nurse really made an impression on me and reinforces that there truly are good, caring people in the world and she makes you want to be a better more compassionate, generous person. UCI is really lucky to have her on the team!!
