Ellen is a Registered Nurse with a long tenure in Out-Patient Services. She is highly skilled with all service lines that come through this area and especially with Infusion Services. In her role as Charge RN, she coordinates the daily staffing and patient flow.
Patients, particularly in Infusion Services, look forward to her nursing compassionate nursing care. She is especially effective with children and developmentally disabled patients. These particular populations have many challenges but tremendous rewards.
Ellen’s consistent performance and calm, compassionate demeanor, provides a high quality standards for care with all our patients and our families. She is particularly effective coordinating multiple services patient care delivery: choreographing a dance between Out-patient Surgery, AM Admit Surgery, Infusion Therapy, Pain Management, Out-patient Endoscopy and Special Procedures. Most of these patients arrive to LSA for admission (and/or treatment) and return to LSA for discharge home (in essence two visits). The dance is constant, fluid and dynamic. Through it all she directs patient flow and staff interactions. She remains calm and focused.
Through all this she takes time to orient new staff, start IVs, cover breaks and round on patients. Ellen is a key reason why patients describe their Sutter experience as a “very good experience;” and report to our post-procedure phone calls, “I will never go anywhere else for my health care.”
