My boyfriend suffered a mild stroke. He came in through the emergency department and was admitted to 6 North. One of the nurses we came across was Marie. Now, the reason she stands out to me is that out of all the nurses we dealt with she was the most compassionate, the most caring and the most attentive of all. Even if she was too busy to answer a question or grab a warm blanket, she found someone to do it and make sure that we had everything we needed. She was so understanding of the fact that he was having problems with his speech and let him take his time communicating. She showed a lot of empathy and I am so thankful to her for that. She will always be in our hearts and minds.
