I recently was a patient on ICU floor for 10 days. Although I arrived with a fairly simple malady, a collapsed lung, I left there with a diagnosis of terminal, inoperative multiple cancer sites. Needles to say, the situation was mind bending at best.
I wanted to write to you concerning the nursing staff in the ICU. Never have I been cared for by such a compassionate, caring, knowledgeable staff in all my prior hospitalizations!!!
The staff was superb! Even the nurses being trained in the ICU were outstanding! So many Nurses over those days gave me extraordinary care all contributed to my ability to get through this awful ordeal.
Of very special note is a nurse who seemed to be, in our eyes, "a cut above" all others- she soothed our broken hearts, she gave us all the information we needed to process the news we were given, and she made absoultely sure that my family and I got the care we needed. Tamzen was fantastic in everything she did for us, and that word is an understatement in our minds.
I cannot explain what it meant to me and my wife to be surrounded by these caring people in our trying times. I thank you all for your kindness.
