A child with a newly diagnosed brain tumor was admitted to the PICU from the ER. At 0810 Jessie found out from the APC the patient needed an urgent MRI of the brain. We in the APC had an open slot at 0915. Despite much miscommunication with the PICU team and Neuro-Surgery Jessie navigated through the many layers of the medical team to get the child to the MRI at 0915.
Jessie's dedication showed safe and effective care and displayed exceptional service. The family of the patient expressed their thanks to everyone at SLCH because they arrived to the ER at 0600 and their child was already sedated in an MRI by 0930. Although it took many dedicated staff to accomplish this Jessie was the central piece of the puzzle that made all this possible.
