Stephanie has been nominated because she is a “Star among Stars” according to one family, whose father was in the process of dying. The daughter of the patient stated that Stephanie never left their side during their dad’s last night. Stephanie worked diligently the entire evening and explained what was happening and showed them great compassion.

Another reason Stephanie was nominated is that she is a true leader on her home unit (SICU). “She is a wonderfully engaged-Charge Nurse who helps make every day a good one on the Unit” states her nominator. “She is our PNC rep. who has taken on the challenge to keep the unit informed of its meetings & decisions.” Stephanie has been a driving force in completing SICU’s Action Plans and making sure the staff was focused on the correct elements for improvement.

Stephanie has a positive attitude and is always willing to help anyone on the unit. As you can see, Stephanie has been a “DAISY Award” type of nurse for a long time.
