I arrived at Perry Point in December 2010 to the Dom Program because I was homeless. I was assigned Nora. At the beginning I couldn’t understand the woman’s motive. I was taking tox screens, seemed like every day I dreaded seeing this woman. Now I understand fully if it wasn’t for her being stern and hard the way she was, I would not have been successful as I was. I know for a fact I wouldn’t have completed the program or my schooling. She stayed on top of my appointments and put me in for the necessary housing after the Dom program was up. She always made it a point to stop by my room and speak with me. She truly is what a person should represent working with veterans. She truly is a healer and motivator.
