Linda shows heartfelt interest in every patient encounter. She always goes the extra mile to ensure patient/families understand their dx process, tx options and prognosis. She comes in early and works late to make sure she calls or answers as many patients as able in a day. She is an invaluable team member and an asset to our department. She helps hold it all together. She embodies all 6 characteristics needed to provide compassionate holistic care.
Sentry – She follows patient progress closely, monitoring for decline in status of her patients and calling any changes to the attention of that provider.
Healer – She goes out of her way to help patients access complimentary therapies, spiritual guidance and psychological care.
Guide – She is the ultimate patient educator, guiding our patients through the shock of new diagnosis, change in prognosis or helping them to cope with maintenance of a chronic dx.
Teacher – She helps patients understand how to manage their chronic disease and why it is important to proactively take care of themselves.
Collaborator – she is the glue that holds the pieces together, independent when she can be, asking for advice/direction when necessary = a true part of the team.
Leader – She helps to empower patients to care for themselves, change lifestyles and the direction of their lives.
