Chris Mayfield Patient Family Nomination:
Christopher Mayfield’s compassionate care and bedside manner is exemplary. He was so kind, caring, and had a smile, and wonderful attitude the entire time he cared for my mother. All the nurses should take note of his enthusiasm and sweet demeanor. He made my mom and our entire family feel at ease; and gave us confidence in my mother surgery etc. Thank you Chris.
When I hear the name Chris Mayfield, I picture a nurse with an afro, wearing scrub pants that go up above his ankles and waist up to his chest.
He is funny, cheerful, is our comic relief in SSU, makes our patients and their families laugh and relax. He can be a little loud sometimes but our patients love his sense of humor. He makes them comfortable and relieves their stress.
He is flexible. He goes from SSU to PACU to GI, wherever he is needed, without complaints.
He greets patients and visitors with warmth .
He gets a lot of recognition from patients for providing very good care, keeps them comfortable and responds to their needs in a timely manner, keeps them informed of what to expect.
A patient told me just yesterday that Chris treats her like an individual and not just one of the many patients who come in daily.
He treats them with respect and makes them feel special.
Chris lives the Vincentian values.
