There are absolutely no words to describe my gratitude for Heidi's care, kind heart, compassion, and empathy. My family's lives were changed forever in one instance. Unsure, anxious and fearful of what the day was going to hold, we walked onto the Pediatric floor and were welcomed with open arms. Heidi greeted us with an unforgettable smile and unbelievable kindness.
Heidi made my family feel safe and comfortable, in a very vulnerable and uncomfortable time. She went above and beyond for my kiddo. She made my child feel calm in a time of chaos. While we were speaking with the provider, Heidi built enough trust with my kiddo to take her out of the room to have fun and feel secure. I mean the "happy bag" (which my child carried around for a day) and the "pink" ice cream helped. My husband and I walked into a smiling kid; a smile that hadn't been seen much of that day.
Heidi is a fabulous nurse, who helped hold my family together on one of the worst days of our lives. Heidi, thank you for your kindness, compassion, support, caring hands, warm smile, and empathy. You are what every nurse should strive to be. You are a person that this family will never forget, and we will hold you in such high regard.
