Patty King is a very special person. Everyone should have the chance to spend some time with her. You always walk away feeling better.

Patty became an LPN at the age of nineteen. Twenty years later, she became an RN and did not stop there; she went on to obtain her BSN in 1990. She has a broad range of experience obtained while working in various departments, including Pediatrics, Med/Surg, physician offices and obstetrics.

After obtaining her BSN, she worked as a private contract nurse for the State of Oregon, was a nursing supervisor for six years at the Grants Pass Clinic and now has returned to Asante, sharing her skills, excellence and compassion with staff and patients.

Patty recently received a Values in Action award for her care with one of her patients. The patient’s mother was unable to be with her daughter during her event and the patient stated that having Patty with her was like having her own mother with her, making it a wonderful experience.

Patty has been married for 41 years. She has been a foster parent for several special children and is very involved with their care and upbringing. As well as raising her own brood, she has gone above and beyond by adopting a few of her foster children; once again demonstrating the very qualities that made her the perfect choice for this Award.
