Patricia Petronis has been working third shift as a nurse on Hooker 1 since July 1999. Patricia is an outstanding nurse and stays up to date on all current practices. She dedicates herself to her entire floor every shift she works. I have seen her calm, at ease, intuitive and knowledgeable in medically complex and stressful situations. I have seen her remain calm and reassuring even when a patient is showing her disrespect. She never wavers, staying strong and true to her profession.
During her time here at Gaylord she has not only proven to be a nurse I would proudly let take care of any member of my own family, but she also is an excellent mentor. Patricia has trained many new nurses in her time here (myself included), and she does so with no loss of effort. She strives to bring out the best in all of the new nurses. Patricia is a team leader and is always willing to help her fellow teammates in their time of need. When it comes to helping and healing hands most nurses work with two, I am certain that Patricia is working with four.
Third shift nurses are rarely recognized as there is no one here in the middle of the night to witness their kindness and dedication. For Patricia, I would like to be that witness and state that she deserves this special recognition to show that we see her and Gaylord is truly blessed to have a nurse like her. There is no doubt that Hooker 1 night shift is lucky to have her.
