Nurse Clare Mieszala is loved by family and friends. She is the mother of a marine, she is an educator, a preceptor, charge nurse, was the acting Manager of NICU and is hard-working and a diligent staff nurse. She has been at Wellstar Cobb hospital for 21 years and initially did Pediatrics but later transferred to this unit and has continued to blaze a good path. In the many years she has been here, she has continued to step up as a leader in all she does and has led by example. She is beautiful, radiant and comports herself with confidence and knowledge, yet with humility and kindness to peers and patients in her words and actions. She leads with fairness, compassion and understanding.
Fairness- Making Critical decisions that can affect both the unit and the staff.
Communicating Effectively so that everyone can understand.
Compassion- working night shift on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day without a murmur due to staffing shortage.
Understanding- Listening to suggestions, disagreements and complaints and finding solutions.
Nurse Clare inspires us to want to do more and be more, she supports the nurses. I might be just a bit biased because I was hired by her. She gave me the opportunity to be in NICU, the department I really wanted to work in and I know my co-workers will agree with me that Clare deserves this DAISY Award.
