Brock Vaughan is an amazing nurse. She is one of the many whom my husband and I were blessed to meet upon admission. She always has the needs of the patient and their loved ones first. She exemplifies compassion above and beyond what need be. I was always confident and completely at ease when she was caring for my husband. He was not always an easy patient, but she always treated him with a tender smile and gentleness.
Brock was never rushed and took more time than she should have to ensure we were ok! Upon learning of my need to do laundry, she offered to take it home and do it. When my husband was transferred to ICU the first time, Brock came to see me and offered a shoulder to lean on. Better yet, she hugged me in my time of distress. When we were unable to return to F1 upon his exit from ICU, she routinely checked to see how we were. Unfortunately, my husband returned to ICU a week later and passed away from complications of his disease. Brock came to the ICU and held me while I mourned the loss of my best friend; the love of my life. She went above and beyond and deserves to be commended for her utmost professionalism and humanitarian efforts.
