Here is what a patient from F7 had to say about Tonya's dedication to nursing and to our patients and families:

Tonya came to the unit today on her day off. She lives quite a few miles away so I asked her why? She was carrying two large bags filled with clothes and shoes. We had a patient with AML who had been sick for several years and spent most of that time in the hospital. Her only "family" was a boyfriend that was unable to support her because he could not handle what she was going through. Before he left, he burned all of her clothes and shoes. Tonya went through her own closet and brought in some clothes and shoes. To me, this is what the DAISY Award is all about and shows the extraordinary compassion Tonya has for her patients.
