Impressed by her exemplary care, Denise Winslow was nominated by her co-workers in the Labor and Delivery unit. Denise’s co-workers feel that Denise provides her patients with the best care experience anywhere in the community. In a busy labor and delivery unit, Denise has a calming affect on her patients at a time when they are in pain and most stressed. She takes the time to soothe, while still providing the necessary care and assisting in the delivery. She shows great leadership and critical thinking in organizing the patient care; always showing a positive attitude and never complaining about the amount of work. She helps out her co-workers without any hesitation – a true team player – and volunteers routinely for those difficult patients that others shy away from. Denise has made a difference in her patients’ lives as she never lets go of the human touch in any situation. She strives to make their birth experience positive and is someone to whom the newer nurses exemplify.

After Denise was announced as our DAISY Nurse, numerous additional comments were posted to our internal website. Other nurses, who had received care by Denise when they had their babies, posted beautiful comments as to what a wonderful and caring nurse Denise is.
