Jessica has been an employee of Winter Haven Hospital for 4 years. Jessica came to MSU as a NT and then more recently transitioned into the role of an RN. I have witnessed Jessica grow, learn and develop as a new RN. It is quite clear when you work closely with Jessica that she went into the profession of caring because it was her calling. Jessica frequently brings up situations and circumstances with patients that she is concerned about and she always seeks help and clarity to allow for the best outcomes with her patients.
Jessica in her short nursing career has already embraced what it is to be a true advocate for her patients and families, developing trusting and caring relationships, practicing loving kindness and allowing for mystery and miracles. When I learned of Jessica’s involvement in wanting to facilitate a unique and special request for her 99 year old patient to be able to witness her unborn great grandchild I was not surprised, yet extremely proud. Jessica demonstrates a true commitment to her profession of caring daily and most certainly in this situation. I am proud of Jessica and extremely grateful that she will be honored and awarded for her commitment to excellence with the DAISY award! Jessica is a facilitator of excellence on MSU and is most deserving of an award. Myself and MSU are extremely thankful for Jessica and all she contributes to this work of caring!
