Laura received two nominations:

Laura is able to get her recuperating patients to do things they don’t want to do with her wit and quick thinking tips to make it easier for them. She is both funny and gentle in dealing with all of her patients and their families. She took the time to really “LISTEN” to my mom’s concerns and fully explained everything that was going on, what she was going to do and how it would feel. She is an excellent and understanding mentor to other staff as well. I would highly recommend her for the DAISY Award.

Laura has gone above and beyond to not only make us (the NWTC nursing students) feel cared for, but always has the patients as her #1 priority. Laura happily answers questions, and lends a hand when the instructor was busy or unavailable. She is very thorough on following up on patients concerns or helping to solve a problem they are having. She always follows up on loose ends and follows through with her phone calls. She has good rapport with her patients, always has a good attitude and shows tremendous compassion. Laura is a valuable part of the Aurora team!
