Nomination Letter – 1
My week has been long and tiresome. I’ll be glad to see it come to an end. However, I will remember it, because of Kayce. She came into my room with an attitude of, “we’re going to get you better.” “We,” meant to me, a team of professionals working together with Kayce at the bat. She hit the ball out of the park. I know pain on a day-by-day basis, but my day was enriched knowing that this nurse was not just concerned with a paycheck, but with quality care. She informed me how I could take better care of myself. We need to thank and recognize such a jewel. Please continue to allow Kayce to knock out homeruns. She is a special person to me. I’m very blessed to have met her. I would also like to thank Jodie, who started my I.V. She was able to let her light shine. The doctor was also a very good umpire.
Nomination Letter – 2
There was an elderly couple driving to Texas. They pulled off at Sycamore View to spend the night. Apparently, in the middle of the night there was a knock on their hotel room door. The man that came to the couple’s room was very angry, from what they told Kayce. He was looking for a man who had stayed in that same room the previous night. The elderly man began to have chest pain and came to the ED. He was worked up, but insisted on not staying. When his second troponin came back elevated, Kayce did what she could to convince him to stay. She drove his wife back to the hotel and helped her pack up their belongings. Kayce then followed her back up to the hospital and helped her get to her husband’s room. What Kayce did was an awesome thing! This man was worried about his wife of many years. Kayce made it so that he could get the medical care that he needed, and his wife was taken care of. Kayce did not end up leaving here until almost 9:00am on Monday. I just wanted to let you know that I think she deserves some recognition for this. Not many people would have done the same.
