I would like to express my gratitude to a very special RN at PH Dubois where I delivered a healthy baby boy. While receiving care there, I had an amazing team of nurses who all played an important part in my labor and delivery. Although all of these nurses did a great job, I really would like to thank one in particular. Without her support and knowledge, I don't think my stay would have been so positive. Her kindness and encouragement helped me through over 20 hours of labor, plus an unplanned cesarean.
Rhonda displayed so many wonderful characteristics while caring for me. I have never met anyone so genuine, so unique. This nurse was kind yet affirmative. I could tell she really enjoyed her career, and most importantly, caring for her patients. She showed interest in what I wanted in my delivery and offered advice and help with breastfeeding. This was something extremely important to me. She actually listened!
When I labored through the day, she was there. I was offered comfort, care, and support, as was my husband. She included him in my care, showing him how to also help.
While in labor, my son's heart rate dropped, and although several nurses were around and calling my doctor... this nurse was there right beside me. She gave encouragement and comfort. I knew exactly what to do as she assisted me in changing positions, helping me breathe through contractions and the start of not one but two epidurals. When things weren't progressing and I was wheeled into the OR for an unplanned cesarean she was there, calm and ready to go. I was scared but I told myself if anything happens, she's here. I will be okay and the baby will be okay. I trusted her.
After delivery, her positive attitude never ceased. I expressed how I wanted to breastfeed, but wasn't sure how. That was no problem for her, she was extremely helpful and because of her, my son has been successfully breastfeeding since we left the hospital! I never thought I could do it, but she showed me so much support I felt it was impossible to not succeed.

I could not have asked for a better experience while in her care at PH Dubois. Thank you very much, Rhonda, you made my experience wonderful.
