Joanne Harlan was more than a nurse to me, she became my friend, my support, my advocate and my teacher. I had a very difficult time during my induction with unexpected complications that ended up with me having a c-section and my baby being taken to NICU at Dell Children's Hospital. Joanne had a huge impact on my recovery and I wouldn't have made it through this difficult time without her.
Joanne held my hand as they placed another peripheral IV line in OR, she hugged me as they removed my epidural and did a spinal block. She talked to me the entire time the OR team was prepping me for the c-section. She wiped my tears and stayed by my side until my husband came into the room.
Joanne's work ethic and compassion are what got me through the most difficult time I have ever experienced. My son and I thank Joanne for helping us recover and we will never forget her.
