Deb is an integral member of the MS Center team. Deb's nominations highlight her excellence as a leader and key resource; both patients and coworkers alike mention her dedication to nursing and helping patients.
***
Her work in our clinic with our providers, staff, and patients is exceptional. She has taken on additional responsibility with our new freestanding infusion center and has done so with grace and finesse. Even under the most stressful of circumstances, Deb has behaved as a role model for the rest of us, focusing on what we need to do to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients and the rest of our team.
***
Deb is the glue that holds the entire UW Multiple Sclerosis Center together. She is one of our most important and needed resources here. Deb is the RN 3 of the entire MS Center. She works in the Clinic as RN to two of our very busy Neurologists and makes sure that things run smoothly in many ways. She is also in charge of the other clinic nurses, as well as the MS Infusion nurses. A second infusion area in the building was started out of necessity to deliver the best patient care - and she has built that from the beginning with the RNs there into a thriving infusion center meeting the needs of our patient population of the whole UW.
***
Most recently, Deb has been running huddles every morning with our staff to help ensure that any concerns are addressed and to try to help connect patients on our wait list to spots opened from last minute cancellations. I couldn't be luckier than to work with Deb. She is one of the most crucial members of our team, and I really feel she is the glue that helps to hold all the moving parts of the MS Center together.
Deb is a wonderful person to work with… Deb goes above and beyond to make sure that the patient and their family's needs are met. Her knowledge and experience with the population have taught me a lot since I joined the team at the MS Center.
