A colleague nominated Kate Carothers for the DAISY Award following receiving care from Carothers after her baby's delivery.
According to her nominator, Carothers' passion for the care of her patients was evident as she made her comfortable throughout her time at the hospital.
"During my hospital stay, she collaborated with one of my doctors in a letter to my insurance company to ensure I had the right equipment at home to succeed."
According to her nominator, Carothers encouraged her to take a step back and enjoy being a mother, which was a valuable lesson for her nominator. "She may not realize it, but she has made a lasting impact on my family and me for years to come, and for that, I will be forever grateful."
