I would like to nominate Christopher Morehouse, from the Bellevue ED as a deserving recipient of the DAISY Award. This nurses' compassionate care and clinic skills exemplify the kind of nurse that our patients, their families, and our staff recognize as an outstanding role model. In my experiences with Chris, he consistently meets the following criteria: Uncompromising commitment to compassionate, ethical and quality patient care; dedication to providing extraordinary service with each opportunity; commitment to enhancing quality of life and respect for everyone.
I am writing this email to you this evening because I truly believe Chris Morehouse deserves to be recognized for his hard work as a nurse here at Bellevue, ED. I currently work on the Adult Crisis Unit at Nebraska Medicine and received a referral to evaluate a patient at Bellevue Emergency Department for potential admission to our unit. Upon speaking with Chris about the patient, it became evident that he went above and beyond to uncover the patient's full story to allow both of our units to work together to provide top-notch care of the patient. As a former ED tech, I know that the ED can be a very busy place and thus appreciate even more the extra time Chris spent to help the patient as well as our unit. Even though our provider did not end up accepting the patient, the time and effort Chris puts into doing his job has not gone unnoticed. Thank you, Chris, you are valued and appreciated.
