Maria is always our Shift Nurse Manager with so much responsibility beyond taking patients. However, when we are in need of an extra hand she is there to help us. She ensures we all have the opportunity to take a lunch break and a morning break. She is a great staff and patient advocate. When we have a really tough day and go beyond our norm, she will bring breakfast or treats the next morning with a "thank you" for the staff.
Maria is a true caring, loving RN with a huge, loving heart for nursing and the patients who are admitted to our unit, whether Maria is a patients' personal nurse or not. She has one goal which is that the patient is a priority and she will go to the extreme to ensure that they receive excellence in nursing care.
