Arlene is a huge team player and goes out of her way to help others. Anytime we are short staffed you can always count on Arlene to grab a dynamap and help the techs do their vitals and give baths regardless of her patient load. When in charge, she immediately jumps to help with discharges and will constantly pester you throughout the day almost desperate to help ease your load in any way she can. She immediately answers a call bell if a nurse and tech are busy and we know when she is working it is rare a patient waits too long for assistance.
To me, Arlene is one of the most compassionate nurses. She empathizes with patients to a level that I think is rarely seen anymore. You can tell that Arlene really has a deep love for nursing. She is so caring and compassionate and it is easy to see how much enjoyment she gets out of helping others. When I work with Arlene she makes me want to be a better nurse and she has quickly become someone I look up to. You can see how passionate she is in the way she talks to her patients and forms strong relationships with them. She is not just there to care for them but to also be a support system through trying times.
