Larisa goes above and beyond her roles and duties as a nurse on a daily basis. Not only does she deliver outstanding nursing care, but she is also compassionate, accommodating, and kind to parents of her tiny patients. Larisa and her mother use their own time, money, and resources to knit hats for the babies in the NICU. She sometimes makes hundreds a month, making them in all different shapes, sizes, colors, and specializing them for holidays. I have seen parents come to tears when they see that a stranger cares so deeply for their newborn infants. Larisa was also my preceptor for NICU Intermediate. I was fresh out of nursing school and this also being my first job. She was so patient, caring, and attentive to my learning needs. She challenged me and pushed me to be a better nurse. If it wasn't for the wonderful experience I had with Larisa, I would not have learned so much or be the nurse I am today. Larisa is a true DAISY Nurse.
