Neither my children nor I have ever had an admission as an inpatient here until this one. I'm an RN of over 16 years and I understand the ins and outs of healthcare. This admission was just a little over 24 hours, but I want to give credit where I feel it's due. The admission was for my 12 year-old-son. His day nurse, Mary Carocci, was a Godsend. I recognized the true heart and spirit of a nurse in her. She clearly exhibited that her patients were her # 1 priority. She did an excellent job explaining everything; she welcomed our questions and was patient with us. If she couldn't get to something right away she explained that and why and when she would be able to get it. She has been extremely informative - she explains everything and updates us often. I just can't say enough about her. In my professional opinion, she has demonstrated the heart and soul of a true nurse. I'm thankful to have crossed paths with Mary because in this day and time a nurse like her helps restore my faith in true nursing. I pray she'll be blessed in her future and career.
