Mary went above and beyond taking care of my husband. She would explain all the medicines, machines and what was going on for each day. She would feed him his meals as he was unable to be put in a sitting position because of all the equipment and tubes that were connected to him. She helped him to get groomed. I've never seen anyone help my husband with any of those functions while he was in the hospital in the past. She could explain what the doctors said about his condition, which was a big help. She was so kind and caring it just shined through. Because my husband was in the ICU for such a long time and unable to move around he was having some issues and when I reached out for help she immediately went to his side to help him cope. She treated him like family and for that matter, me too. She truly exemplifies what an outstanding nurse should be.
