Courtney was caring for a patient with no family only a "medical decision maker". The patient was transitioned to comfort measures and appeared to be very near to death. Courtney saw that there was nobody in the room with the patient. She spent over an hour cleaning him, straightening his linens, and just sitting and holding his hand so that he would not be alone at the time of his death.
