I would like to start this message off by saying that Hospice of Dayton has truly shown me over my healthcare career that clients, residents, and patients are always first and foremost. From all the wonderful people that I have had the opportunity to work with, I would like to point out a newer worker that is assigned to my facility. Sarah Slusher has truly become an asset to my unit. She always goes above and beyond to help out staff with our HOD patients. Sarah's mentality is always "what more can I do?" and she is the epitome of collaborative care. She always places patients first and works above and beyond to give patients the highest level of care along with comfort.
My facility had a "miscommunication" dealing with a new move-in a day ago (a prior HOD patient). Sarah stayed over to reinforce, reassure and fix this problem (all within doctor's orders, collaboration with the nurse, facility's sales department and family). Today was my facility's monthly meeting which I was unable to attend due to the doctor coming in and dealing with orders, pharmacy confirmation, family notification and all those details that fall in between. My executive director/administrator called me into her office later that day to personally thank "us" on going the extra mile for our residents. I could not have done any of this without Sarah.
I wish to remain anonymous, to solely recognize the excellence in care that your workers provide and also maintain a professional environment. I am an advocate of HOD and will remain that way because of your staff. You always provide a higher standard that is displayed in any setting.
