After transitioning out of ICU, Jon was my nurse for three days. He approached my care with kindness and compassion and patience. Never did I, or my family feel that we were asking too much of him but rather after each request, Jon asked how else he might be able to help and make me more comfortable. Jon always gave care as if I was his only patient, although he was also caring for others. But that was something he never exhibited because he is so wonderful at being completely present with each individual. It was also greatly appreciated that he provided open communication with family, listening to everyone's concerns and always asking if there was anything he could do to make the family more comfortable as well.
Finally, on my last day here at Sequoia even though Jon was not my nurse, he came by to see how I was doing and offered assistance should we need it. His warmth, kindness and genuine heart were expressed with a big hug - I felt like I had family caring for me!
