My cousin was in an accident. Needless to say, this was a very unexpected event. We had lots of family and friends there, and we took over the waiting room. His nurse was busy taking care of him. Becky MacMillan was amazing with checking in on us like family. She was great from finding us resources to being willing to set up an area for the nursing mom to pump while we were there. She helped make sure our family's spiritual needs were met and truly went above what I have ever seen a charge nurse do.
The hospital was great in providing coffee and snacks. The doctor provided amazing care and was sympathetic and patient, but Becky truly helped make us feel as comfortable as she could in this situation. I can't thank her enough nor can I ever find enough words to say what she did for us.

Our son had a stroke and we arrived from Arizona about 9:00 pm. Becky spent time explaining all the monitors and hookups as well as medical information. Every shift she worked, she took time with my husband and I updating and answering questions.
When I was frustrated, she took time when her shift was complete to talk us through things. She could have just gone home, but she didn't. After our son was transferred, she came 3 times to see us. We felt like the staff in CCU was family in a weeks' time. I could nominate many more nurses, but Becky went over and above her position to minister to us.
