Today my mom, who is a retired nurse from MCH, had surgery to put in a port for her radiation treatment. This is the 2nd surgery, in the past few weeks, she has had for her breast cancer. We arrived at the hospital at 6 AM and Gina got my mom prepped for surgery. We were taken back to find out we did not have a certain kit needed for her surgery. She continuously checked up on us and we found out, she herself is a breast cancer survivor and her attitude and demeanor just warmed up our room. It made me and my mom calmer and at ease. We had to go back to the room until the kit was retrieved from another hospital. Gina was so attentive and sweet and warm. We finally had my Mom's port installed and she was out of surgery and on her way home by 5 PM. This amazing nurse and woman was the best nurse ever! I wanted to take her home with us. Great job, Gina.
P.S. She was also my nurse for my surgery months back! Amazing!
