Rebecca Shroyer is a staff nurse in the Emergency Department at Phoenix Indian Medical Center, an inner-city hospital that serves a population of Native American patients from many tribes. Rebecca works the overnight shift from 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. One of her patients nominated her for the DAISY Award with these words:
"Rebecca made me feel at ease while I was waiting on my test results. She also went above and beyond, making sure I had what I needed. To most of us, it's the small little extras that count the most, like an extra pad and wipes to clean up after an exam. She did all this without needing to be asked, and honestly, she is one of the only nurses that ever has done "the little things" without me having to ask. You can see the sparkle in her eyes and smile on her face that tells how much she likes her job and loves her patients. Thank you Rebecca, you are amazing."
