Recently one of Melody's patient was traveling out of state. This patient required close monitoring of his health. He had frequent lab draws to monitor his PT/INR. Melody researched the area he was traveling to and which hospitals were within his insurance network. Then she made arrangements for this patient to go there while on vacation. She also made sure he had enough pain medication to travel with and a refill if needed. While the patient was on the trip he became hospitalized with pneumonia. Melody was in close contact with the hospital providers and wife during this time. She made sure his lung specialist was notified of his admission as well as his primary care doctor. This patient is receiving lung surgery in California soon. Melody played an integral part in making sure everything was monitored for his trip.
