I am writing this letter on behalf of my family who recently lost our mother. When it first became apparent that she needed medical help, our family brought her to St. Al's emergency room. I just want to tell you about our two FABULOUS nurses. Our day nurse was Taylor in the CICU. She was very kind and very professional. She supported our family through the whole process, constantly updating us. If we asked a question, she knew the answer and was so caring in how she presented that answer. Taylor was such a calming influence.
Our night nurse was Emily. I took the opportunity to stay all night with my mother. Emily made sure I had a pillow and blanket and I was as comfortable as possible. She would always ask me if I was okay all night. She was also explaining to me the procedures and what was happening to my sweet mother. Emily stood guard over my mother and I so appreciated her.
I know some people say that is their job, but these two nurses did not make it their job; they made us feel like they were there just for us. Their professionalism and their conduct during this difficult time were amazing. It never was about their job, it was about their patient and informing the family of what was taking place.
