Valerie is very adaptable and dependable, and can transition into multiple roles including triage, charge nurse, preceptor and A or B side nurse. She has become a valuable resource to our department, providing mentoring to new RNs and resource nurses. Valerie has an uplifting team spirit, uniting all the staff with her well-organized potlucks and holiday decorations, as well as her involvement in the purchasing of Emergency Department logo apparel orders.
Valerie's patient care is always caring and tailored to the individual. Her patients often comment on the fine, professional care she provides. "Patients Are First" has always been Valerie's strength. She always goes above and beyond with her patient care, and sets a high standard for the rest of the team.
Valerie's demeanor in her role as charge nurse lends a sense of calm control to a hectic fast-paced environment. Her positive attitude makes it easy for the rest of the team to approach her in times of stress.
Valerie is an outstanding nursing role model and tremendous leader in the Emergency Department. She fosters confidence in her patients and families, her co-workers appreciate her and she is highly respected.
