Kathy Tracy is a behind-the-scenes hero of nursing. She is passionate about the care and well-being of every employee here at Mercy Fairfield. We see her in action especially during the flu shot and fit-test seasons, but she is always the advocate for the safety and well-being "her Fairfield people". She knows employees by their name and is an ever-available nurse if someone is in need (for a blood pressure check, advice, or assistance with an exposure, etc.). I've seen her be a proactive tigress when there has been an exposure or she has seen a pattern with reactions to products used by staff. She is excellent at referring employees for needs beyond her scope of care. All of this she does with professionalism, kindness and a true heart for being a 'real old-fashioned nurse'. When there was a Code Red on 3A, Kathy was charging up the steps to help and planning ahead for what might be needed for the employees involved when the crisis was over. We are really blessed to have Kathy Tracy as the nurse who cares for us.
