Paul Hughes is devoted, dependable and down-to-earth. His colleagues look up to him as a "bright" RN3 for the 7S Clinical Research Center who is able to find a solution to any problem they may bring to him. As a well-liked nurse, Paul has been described as a calm, relaxed person who is approachable. A fellow nurse shared that Paul "always listens when [she] needs to talk to him about a problem. It helps to have a co-worker you can lean on."
Several times, the Clinical Research Center needed a leader who was able to oversee the operations of the unit—and fortunately, Paul was willing and capable. Paul is highly respected, and so his fellow nurses were happy to comply with his leadership. As a responsible person, Paul has gained the trust of CRC staff as well as other members of the research team. In addition, the patients also trust him to take care of them.
Paul is an excellent clinician who can put a patient at ease with his easy-going nature. His high competency as a nurse, as well as his compassion for patients, has been commented on by both patients and co-workers. Paul is the person you can rely on to do the difficult IV insertions or to figure out a difficult problem. Paul exemplifies the type of nurse/team player everyone wants on their unit—and we are glad he is with the Clinical Research Center's team!
