Arlene was nominated for showing nursing excellence and compassion during an extremely busy shift.
Her nominator wrote, "When it is a busy shift, some would just focus on things that are going wrong - but for Arlene - it was to continue working hard until things got better for her patients."
Arlene worked efficiently with the physician, practice coordinator and other care team members while continuing to frequently update her patients and their families.
"She just set a great example of how to make a difference as a nurse," her nominator said. "Not only did she intervene to help her patients get the best care, but she also lovingly stayed and comforted a patient in her advanced age. It is an inspiration to work with her because she shows us how we can make a difference in someone's life."
