Erik is one of the finest nurses I have had the pleasure to work with. He is constantly going above and beyond for his patients, their family and staff. As a veteran himself, Erik finds ways to connect with his patients, taking the time and effort to talk and care for them in the best possible way. In one specific circumstance, a patient in the PCU was under the General Surgery team, he was at the end of his life, with all measures being taken. Erik noticed this was inappropriate, and by contacting multiple facets of the medical teams, including palliative; he advocated for his patient and their family ensuring the dignity and respect he deserved. This process took two days, and with dedication and persistence, Erik was able to place this man in a private room until hospice care was provided. Erik continues to go above and beyond for his co-workers and patients every day, and I am proud to work with him. He also shares his K-cups!
