Anne is a superstar. She is relatively new to our team here. She is a wealth of knowledge with her experience in other nursing jobs. She caught on quickly to the work, flow, and culture of Periop Services at Fairfield. She is efficient, well rounded, and she doesn't seem to let the small things of the day bother her. She just mows right over the obstacles. One day, she brought a "Local" to me in same-day surgery straight from OR to be discharged home. "Local" patients are those who go to the OR but do not receive anesthesia. They come straight to phase 2 recovery, get one set of vitals, and are always anxious to hit the road just as soon as you can blink your eyes. I was VERY busy. Instead of standing there and staring at me, making both me and the patient nervous lol, she literally did about 70% of the work I was responsible for to help keep the process moving until I could get to her and the patient. She apologized for not having charted any of the care she did for me and the patient! She apologized! She acted like it was no big deal, but I was so thankful. She went way above and beyond her responsibilities as an OR nurse for the good of the patient and to support me as a coworker. I will forever be grateful. These kinds of things are not outside the ordinary for Anne. She should be thanked in a special way for the sunshine she has brought with her to our OR/Periop team.
