I had to call and tell someone about my ED nurse Kristina. I made several phone calls to the hospital today to try to find out who can tell Kristina how she made all the difference for me on the horrible day I came to Good Shepherd.
I have had lots of good nurses who have cared for me in the past, but none are like Kristina. I was having a really horrific night and she made this situation "normal" and "okay". I never felt judged when I know in my heart, others would have judged me. Instead, she took every irrational fear and worry that I had seriously and addressed each one so that I could get peace.
She connected with me on a human level - woman to woman. She got me to talk about my kids and then she shared about her own children. We talked about cub scouts and other very normal things.
Kristina needs to know that because of her and how she helped me that night, she will really never know the positive impact she has made on my life. I actually view life differently because of Kristina. I am indebted to her. I would be so grateful if she could get recognized. She is exceptional. There is no other nurse that I know who is like Kristina Tossman.
