"Do you design your clothes at home the way you do here? I can see you making and wearing your own clothes; so stylish," as Obie slowly and gently checks the pulse on my foot and makes me feel completely at ease to be as open about my concerns as possible. Like every other nurse on this unit, she heard my concerns, addressed them and left me smiling and feeling better. However, she seemed to elevate me as well. Not only was addressing the dirty, gritty, embarrassing, and revealing nature of my healthcare made me comfortable, she left me feeling "normal" and truly well with an inclination of improve.
Each nurse here is exceptional; Obie however, made me feel like getting better was possible at every stage of life. She takes a bit more time to handle medicine, but I enjoy that most for sanitation, personalization, and presentation purposes.
Obie's gentle disposition was easy to respect, and she made it easy to share my most delicate details because she did not miss any chance to gather my small details. I have made requests of all nurses due to my unique circumstances but telling her my small details was without labor and my needs were met. I attribute my openness to share completely, candidly and fully to her warm presence in my early care here.
