I am an employee of FWBMC and I had a routine hysterectomy here. There was a complication during surgery, compromising my left ureter. I had a double J stent placed while in surgery, which I pulled at home two weeks post-op. Later that night, my ureter closed itself off, and I developed horrific pain from hydronephrosis. I went into the ER and headed to IR/Specials a few hours later for a ureteral stent/neph tube placement. I was placed on the table, laying prone. I was crying throughout the procedure, devastated that my condition had come to this. Eden held my hand, wiped my tears, and let me know that she was there for me. I had 7 more procedures done in IR over the last few months, and Eden was always there to comfort me. She wiped my tears, gave me words of encouragement, and ensured I was comfortable throughout my many IR visits. Her compassionate care helped me through one of the hardest times of my life. She was always there with hugs and encouraging words when we got the bad news that my ureter was still stenosed. I could not have made it through this awful process without her! I know she is a traveler, but she is an amazing asset to the IR department and a true DAISY Nurse!
