Jess was my nurse in the emergency room and was a phenomenal one at that. I was already stressed, tired, anxious and she made my experience better. She was very attentive to my needs, she also brought a great sense of humor to her compassionate care, and I can say not only did I enjoy having her as my Nurse, but my friend who brought me felt the same experience. She really was a nurse who not just nurses the patient.
As a nurse myself, I feel nursing the family is important too. My friend was tired and worried about me as well. Jess spoke to both of us; she was present in her care and she was timely in taking care of our needs. What truly made her stand out was her sense of humor. I immediately felt at ease, the air was lighter, I was more relaxed. Additionally, during discharge, I had concerns that she not only heard but advocated for me with the doctor discharging me. She is a good example of what patient care should be.
