Becoming a first-time mom is scary and comes with many other emotions. You come into L+D with a "plan" of how you expect things to go, and when it doesn't, panic sets in. My labor came with many decisions and changes from the original plan, which had me upset and worried. From the moment this nurse came on, they were so happy, bright and positive. I had no clue what to expect but this nurse made sure I was informed and empowered. When I asked this nurse if I would have a baby on this shift the response was, "do you want to?" and I said yes, then the reply was, "Then let's make some magic". My doctors kept telling me things that were getting my spirits down BUT this nurse did not accept that and took it upon to help me with position changes, pain control, and comfort. All of this to encourage a vaginal delivery to which is what I wanted. As a nurse myself, I have never seen another nurse with so much compassion and knowledge. I was fortunate enough to deliver at 7:03 pm, just at the shift change in time for my wonderful nurse, Daniel, to help deliver my baby.
Daniel is a true DAISY Nurse. My delivery was so inspiring and empowering all because I met Daniel.
